Gradebook in, attendance out.

Drop a Canvas or Moodle gradebook export and get back an attendance sheet: any score above zero becomes P for present, a zero becomes A for absent. Student columns stay as they are.

Step 1

Add your gradebook export

Drag your file here

Or browse your computer

From Canvas: Grades → Export → Export Entire Gradebook (.csv). From Moodle: Grades → Export → Plain text file (.csv or .txt) — comma, semicolon, and tab separators all work.

Nothing is uploaded — grades are converted inside this browser tab, on your computer. Names and scores never leave it.

No file to hand? Try a sample Canvas gradebook or a sample Moodle gradebook.

The rules

01

Scores become P or A

Any score above zero is a P. A zero is an A. Moodle's dash for a missing grade counts as ungraded, excused marks (EX) are kept as they are, and anything that isn't a number — a letter grade, a scale value, a note — is left untouched and counted in the summary.

02

Student columns pass through

Canvas's Student, ID, SIS, and Section columns — or Moodle's First name, Surname, ID number, and Email — come through unchanged, so the sheet still matches your roster.

03

The clutter is dropped

Canvas's "Points Possible" row and computed columns (Current Score, Final Grade, and friends), and Moodle's course and category totals, are removed — an attendance sheet has no use for them, and the summary lists exactly what was dropped.
